Dryer door is difficult to open or sticks closed

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before adjusting hinges or seals.

• Inspect door gasket: Check for deformation, swelling, or residue on the gasket. Clean with mild detergent and warm water.
• Check hinges: Ensure hinges are not bent and that screws are tight. Adjust as needed to relieve binding.
• Lubricate lightly (if metal-on-metal): If the hinge is metal-on-metal, a very small amount of high-temperature-safe lubricant can be applied to the pivot (avoid getting any on the gasket or interior).
• Adjust latch: If the latch holds too tightly, adjust the strike slightly outward.
