Dryer drum light stays on even when the door is closed

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before working on the door switch.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door fully closes and presses the door switch plunger.
• Inspect strike alignment: Adjust the door strike so it properly engages the switch.
• Test door switch: Access the switch and test the light contacts for proper opening and closing with a multimeter. Replace the switch if it fails.
• Inspect wiring: Check for shorted wires that could be feeding the light circuit continuously.
