Dryer leaves black or brown marks on clothing

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before disassembly.

• Inspect drum interior: Look for rough spots, sticky residue, or discoloration on the drum surface. Clean with mild detergent if present.
• Check drum seals: Remove the front panel and inspect the felt seals at the front and rear of the drum. If worn, torn, or contaminated with grease, replace them.
• Remove foreign objects: Look for items caught at the drum edges that could be transferring marks to clothes.
• Test with old towels: After cleaning and repairs, run a few cycles with old towels to ensure no further staining occurs.
