Dryer makes a loud thumping or banging noise as the drum turns

Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the cabinet.

• Check load: First, run the dryer empty to see if the noise persists. Heavy items like shoes can cause banging.
• Inspect drum interior: Look for loose baffles (ribs) inside the drum. Tighten or replace if loose.
• Access drum rollers: Remove the front panel and drum to inspect the rear drum support rollers.
• Replace worn rollers: If rollers have flat spots or are visibly worn, replace them as a pair or full set.
• Check drum condition: Inspect the drum for cracks or separated seams. Replace the drum if structurally damaged.
