Possible Causes
Clogged lint filter, Blocked exhaust vent duct, Crushed or kinked vent hose, Blocked wall or exterior vent hood
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the wall socket or breaker.
E02 typically indicates poor airflow causing high temperature in the exhaust system.
- Clean the lint filter: Remove the lint filter and clean it thoroughly. Wash with warm soapy water if it has fabric softener residue, then dry completely.
- Inspect the vent hose: Pull the dryer away from the wall. Check the flexible duct for kinks, crushing, or lint buildup. Remove the hose and vacuum out lint from both the hose and the dryer outlet.
- Check the wall and exterior vent: Go outside and inspect the vent hood. Make sure the flap opens freely and is not blocked by lint, nests, or debris. Clean thoroughly.
- Short test without vent: Temporarily run the dryer for 2–3 minutes with the vent hose disconnected (exhausting into a well-ventilated area) to see if E02 clears. If it runs normally, the issue is in the house venting.
- Reset and test: Reconnect everything, restore power, and run a timed dry cycle. If E02 returns even with clear venting, the exhaust thermistor or high-limit thermostat may be faulty and require further testing.
