Possible Causes
Stuck heater relay on control board, Pitted relay contacts, Shorted heater circuit drawing excessive current, Control board damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer immediately if you suspect an electrical fault. Do not continue to operate the unit.
- Inspect heater circuit: Access the rear of the dryer and visually inspect the heater terminals and wiring for signs of burning or melting. Repair any damaged wiring.
- Check heater resistance: Measure the heating element resistance to ensure it is within specification and not shorted to ground.
- Examine control board: Remove the top panel and inspect the main control board. Look for burnt areas around the heater relay. A burnt relay or PCB usually requires board replacement.
- Replace control board if needed: If the relay is stuck or damaged, replace the entire control board. Ensure all wiring is transferred correctly.
