Dryer makes loud banging or thumping noises during operation

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing panels or reaching inside the drum area.

• Check load: Stop the dryer and redistribute the laundry. Large items like duvets can cause thumping if balled up.
• Inspect drum interior: Look for loose drum baffles (ribs) and tighten their screws from inside the drum if accessible.
• Access drum supports: Remove the top and front panels to inspect front felt seals and support rollers. Replace rollers that are flat-spotted, seized, or noisy.
• Check rear bearing: On models with a rear bearing, inspect for excessive play or grinding. Replace the rear bearing kit if worn.
• Remove foreign objects: Check between the drum and front panel for coins, buttons, or other items and remove them.
