Possible Causes
Failed drive motor, Worn motor start capacitor, Broken or slipping drive belt, Faulty motor wiring or connector on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from the mains before removing panels. Sharp edges may be present.
- Check drum movement: With the dryer unplugged and door open, try to rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly with moderate resistance. If seized or very stiff, the motor or drum support system may be jammed.
- Inspect drive belt: Remove the top cover and, if needed, the rear panel to view the belt around the drum and motor pulley. If the belt is broken, frayed, or off the pulley, replace it with a compatible Teka dryer belt.
- Examine motor area: Look for burnt smell, discoloration, or debris around the motor. Check that the motor connector is fully seated on the motor and on the main control board.
- Test motor capacitor: Many Teka vented and condenser dryers use a start/run capacitor mounted near the motor. Discharge the capacitor safely, then test its capacitance with a meter. Replace if out of tolerance or visibly swollen.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing the belt or capacitor, reassemble panels, reconnect power, and run a short cycle. If E02 remains and the motor hums or does not start, the motor or control board may require professional replacement.
