Possible Causes
Full or incorrectly seated water tank, Blocked condensate pump or drain channel, Failed condensate pump motor, Faulty water level sensor or float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains before accessing internal components. Water and electricity are a hazardous combination.
- Empty and reseat water tank: Remove the condensate water tank from the front of the Teka dryer, empty it completely, rinse it, and slide it back firmly until it clicks into place.
- Clean condenser and drain path: Remove the lower front panel (if applicable) and slide out the condenser unit. Rinse it under running water to remove lint. Check the drain channel beneath the condenser and clear any lint or debris.
- Check float and level sensor: Some Teka models use a float in the base tray. Remove the front lower cover and inspect the float for sticking due to dirt or scale. Clean and ensure it moves freely.
- Inspect condensate pump: If accessible, locate the small pump in the base. Check for obstructions in the pump inlet and outlet hose. If the pump does not run when the dryer attempts to drain (you may hear a faint buzz), it may be faulty and require replacement.
- Reset and test: After cleaning and reassembling, reconnect power and run a short program. If E04 persists with a known-empty tank and clear drain path, the pump or level sensor circuit on the control board may need professional diagnosis.
