Possible Causes
Faulty heat pump compressor, Defective compressor start relay or capacitor, Blocked heat exchanger, Low refrigerant charge or leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Heat pump systems contain high-pressure refrigerant; do not open the sealed system unless you are certified to handle refrigerants.
- Clean both heat exchangers: Access the front lower panel and remove the user-cleanable heat exchanger. Rinse thoroughly to remove lint. If the rear heat exchanger is accessible, gently vacuum lint from its fins without bending them.
- Ensure adequate ventilation: Make sure the dryer has sufficient space around it and that intake and exhaust grilles are not blocked.
- Listen for compressor operation: During a cycle, you should hear the compressor start after a few minutes. If it never starts, the compressor relay, capacitor, or compressor itself may be faulty.
- Check fan operation: Confirm that internal circulation fans are running; poor airflow across the heat pump will trigger E08.
- Professional service for sealed system: If cleaning and airflow checks do not resolve E08, the issue may be low refrigerant or a failed compressor. These repairs require specialized tools and should be performed by an authorized Teka service technician.
