Possible Causes
Obstructed blower wheel, Broken or loose fan impeller, Faulty fan motor, Blocked air intake grilles
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains. Moving fan blades can cause injury.
- Check air intakes: Ensure that the front and rear air intake grilles are not blocked by dust, lint, or objects.
- Access blower housing: Remove the front or rear panel (depending on model) to reach the blower fan. Inspect for lint clumps, socks, or other items caught in the fan.
- Inspect fan wheel: Check that the fan impeller is firmly attached to the motor shaft and not cracked or missing blades. Replace the fan wheel if damaged.
- Test fan motor: Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely. If stiff or noisy, the motor bearings may be worn. Test the motor windings with a multimeter and replace the fan motor if defective.
- Reassemble and test: After clearing obstructions and replacing any faulty parts, reassemble the dryer and run a cycle. If E13 persists, the control board may be misreading fan speed or current and should be checked by a technician.
