Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Faulty display PCB, Damaged encoder or buttons, Firmware communication error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the control panel. Avoid static discharge to electronic boards.
- Power reset: Leave the dryer unplugged for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and test. This can clear minor communication glitches.
- Access control panel: Remove the top cover and then the screws securing the front control panel. Carefully pull the panel forward.
- Check ribbon cable: Inspect the flat ribbon cable or harness between the user interface board and the main control board. Reseat both ends and ensure the locking tabs are engaged.
- Inspect for damage: Look for signs of moisture, corrosion, or burnt components on the display PCB. Replace the user interface board if visibly damaged or if buttons/knob do not register.
- Test operation: Reassemble and test. If E14 persists with a new UI board and good connections, the main control board may have a communication fault and require replacement.
