Dryer door is hard to close or pops open during cycle

Safety First: Unplug the dryer before adjusting hinges or latch hardware.

• Inspect latch and strike: Check the plastic door catch on the cabinet and the strike on the door. Replace any cracked or worn parts.
• Adjust strike: Loosen the screws holding the door strike and adjust its position so it aligns smoothly with the catch, then retighten.
• Check hinges: Tighten hinge screws on the door and cabinet. If the door sags, gently lift while tightening.
• Test closure: Close the door and ensure it latches firmly without excessive force and does not pop open when the drum starts.
