Moisture Sensing System Malfunction
Dryer stops with clothes still damp when using automatic (sensor) cycles, but timed dry works

Possible Causes
Dirty moisture sensor bars, Broken sensor wiring, Failed moisture sensor, Control calibration issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer before accessing internal wiring.
- Clean sensor bars: Wipe the moisture sensor bars inside the drum with rubbing alcohol to remove any residue.
- Test with different loads: Try a mixed load of towels and lighter items. Very small loads may not contact the sensor enough.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the front or lower panel and check the wires connected to the sensor bars for damage or disconnection.
- Continuity test: Test the sensor circuit for continuity through the bars. Repair or replace the sensor assembly if open.
- Control check: If the sensor and wiring are good but auto cycles still end too soon, the main control may be misreading sensor input and could require replacement.
