Clicking sound from control box but heating element does not turn on.

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before inspecting internal wiring. Relays switch mains voltage.

Diagnostic steps:

• Check element wiring: Verify that wires from the control box to the heating element are intact and firmly connected.
• Test high‑limit device: Locate and test the high‑limit thermostat or thermal fuse for continuity. Replace if open.
• Inspect relay area: Open the control box and look for signs of heat damage around the heating relay. Burnt or cracked solder joints can interrupt power.
• Control box replacement: If the relay clicks but no power reaches the element and wiring/safety devices are good, the relay contacts are likely burned. Replace the digital control box.
