Possible Causes
Failed bisquette advance motor, Faulty advance switch or button, Open motor wiring, Failed smoke generator control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoke generator before opening its housing. Keep hands clear of moving parts when testing.
Steps to diagnose:
- Check manual advance: Press the manual advance button (if equipped). Listen for any motor noise or clicking. No sound suggests a motor or board issue.
- Inspect for jams: Remove all bisquettes and check the feed track and push plate for obstructions. Clean out ash and debris.
- Open smoke generator: Remove the cover to access the motor and wiring. Ensure all connectors are firmly seated.
- Test motor continuity: Disconnect the motor and measure resistance across its terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
- Board output check: If the motor tests good, the smoke generator control board may not be sending power. Replace the smoke generator assembly or board as supplied by Bradley.
