Control buttons respond intermittently or require very hard presses

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before working on the control panel.

• Surface cleaning: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not flood the panel with water.
• Inspect for cracks: Look for cracks in the plastic overlay that may allow moisture in. If present, the panel should be replaced.
• Replace keypad/control panel: If buttons remain unreliable, install a new Char‑Broil control panel or keypad assembly, transferring all connectors carefully.
