Water leaking from bottom of smoker during or after use

Possible Causes
Overfilled water pan, Clogged grease drain channel, Mispositioned water pan or drip tray, Rust holes in bottom pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the smoker to cool before removing pans or trays with hot liquid.
- Check water level: Do not fill the Char‑Broil water pan above the recommended line. Leave space for drippings.
- Inspect drip tray and channels: Remove the drip tray and clean out grease and debris from the tray and any drain channels leading to it.
- Verify correct placement: Ensure the water pan and drip tray are seated properly in their supports so they catch drips.
- Inspect for rust holes: Look under the smoker for rust‑through in the bottom pan. If present, replace the bottom pan or use an OEM replacement drip pan assembly.
