Cabinet temperature reading jumps erratically up and down

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before accessing wiring.

Steps:

• 1. Inspect wiring: Check the probe leads at the controller for loose or corroded connections. Reseat connectors.
• 2. Flex test: Gently wiggle the probe cable while watching the temperature reading (with the smoker ON). If the reading jumps, the cable is likely damaged and the probe should be replaced.
• 3. Dry the probe: If the smoker was recently washed, allow the probe and cabinet to dry thoroughly.
• 4. Replace probe: Install a new Cookshack cabinet temperature probe if erratic readings persist.
