Possible Causes
Overheating IQ controller, Loose power cord connection, Failing internal thermal fuse, High ambient temperature around smoker
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the smoker to cool before touching the controller or internal components.
Steps:
- 1. Check ventilation: Ensure the smoker has adequate clearance on all sides and is not enclosed in a tight space that traps heat.
- 2. Inspect power cord and plug: Wiggle the plug and cord while the smoker is running (carefully). If the display flickers, replace the cord or use a different outlet.
- 3. Inspect internal connections: Check for loose wires at the terminal block and controller input.
- 4. Controller temperature: If the controller housing is extremely hot to the touch during operation, internal components may be overheating. Consider relocating the smoker to a cooler area and, if the problem persists, replace the controller.
