Possible Causes
Tripped household breaker or GFCI, Defective power cord, Loose internal power connections, Failed IQ controller power supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Always unplug the smoker before removing panels or touching internal wiring.
Steps:
- 1. Verify outlet power: Plug another device into the same outlet. If it does not work, reset the breaker or GFCI and correct any house wiring issues.
- 2. Inspect the power cord: Look for visible damage, cuts, or burn marks. If damaged, replace the cord with a Cookshack-approved replacement.
- 3. Check strain relief and entry point: Ensure the cord is not pulled loose where it enters the smoker. Tighten the strain relief if loose.
- 4. Inspect internal connections: Remove the access panel and verify that the power cord wires are securely attached to the terminal block and that the block is not cracked or burnt.
- 5. Controller power: If power is present at the terminal block but the controller is dead, the IQ controller’s internal power supply has likely failed and the controller must be replaced.
