Display shows dashes (---) instead of temperature and smoker will not heat.

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before inspection.

• Check sensor plug: Access the rear or side panel and locate the cabinet sensor connector on the control board. Ensure it is fully inserted.
• Inspect probe entry: Where the sensor enters the cooking chamber, look for kinks or breaks in the cable. If the cable is cut or frayed, replace the sensor.
• Test continuity: Disconnect the sensor and test for continuity from end to end. An open reading indicates a broken wire.
• Replace sensor: Install a new Cuisinart‑compatible cabinet temperature sensor and secure the wiring away from hot surfaces.
