Display shows E6 and smoker shuts down or will not start after a power interruption.

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before removing the control panel.

• Hard reset: Unplug the smoker for 10–15 minutes. Press and hold the power button (if accessible) for 10 seconds while unplugged to discharge internal capacitors. Plug back in and test.
• Check power connections: Remove the control housing and verify that the main AC input wires and low‑voltage harnesses are firmly connected to the control board.
• Inspect for moisture: Look for condensation or water intrusion around the control panel. Dry the area thoroughly and avoid using the smoker in heavy rain without protection.
• Surge protection: If E6 appears after storms or brownouts, use a quality surge protector with the smoker to prevent future damage.
• Replace control board: If the error persists after a reset and connections are secure, the control board’s power or memory circuit is likely damaged and should be replaced.
