Possible Causes
Failed door switch, Misaligned door latch not engaging switch, Broken door switch actuator tab
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before adjusting the door or switch.
- Check door closure: Make sure the smoker door closes fully and the latch pulls it tight. Adjust the latch catch if the door is loose.
- Inspect door switch: Locate the door switch near the door frame. Verify that the actuator is pressed when the door is closed. If the switch body is loose, tighten its mounting screws.
- Test switch continuity: Disconnect the switch wires and test with a multimeter. The switch should show continuity when the door is closed and open circuit when the door is open. Replace if readings are incorrect.
- Replace damaged parts: If the plastic actuator or latch is broken, replace the door latch assembly or door switch bracket with Cuisinart parts.
