Strong burning plastic or electrical smell during operation.

Safety first: Turn off and unplug the smoker immediately if you smell burning plastic or wiring.

• Inspect interior: Once cool, check for plastic, foil, or other foreign objects that may have fallen onto the element and remove them.
• Clean element area: Remove heavy grease from around the element and drip pan.
• Inspect wiring: From the access panel, look for melted or discolored wires near the element and control board. Replace any damaged wiring with high‑temperature rated wire.
• Check control board: If the smell originates from the control housing and components appear burnt, replace the main control board.
