Display shows "dO" or a door icon and the smoker will not start heating.

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before working near wiring or switches.

• Check door closure: Close the door firmly and verify the latch fully engages. Adjust the latch catch plate if the door feels loose or does not compress the gasket evenly.
• Inspect the door switch: Locate the door switch or magnetic reed sensor (usually near the door frame). Ensure it is securely mounted and not obstructed by grease or debris. Clean the area.
• Verify magnet alignment: If your model uses a magnet in the door, confirm it lines up directly with the reed switch when the door is closed. Replace the magnet if it is missing or cracked.
• Test the switch: With the smoker unplugged, disconnect the switch and test for continuity when the door is closed. Replace the door switch if it does not change state properly.
• Repair wiring: Inspect the wires from the switch to the control board for cuts or loose connectors. Repair or replace as needed.
