Possible Causes
Failed onboard thermistor used for reference, Corroded thermistor leads on control board, Control board damage from moisture or grease, Manufacturing defect in sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker and allow it to cool before opening the control housing.
- Inspect control board for contamination: Remove the control panel and examine the board for grease, moisture, or corrosion around small sensor components. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Check for physical damage: Look for cracked or burnt components near the thermistor area. If any are damaged, the board should be replaced.
- Dry the control area: If moisture is present, dry the housing thoroughly and allow the board to air dry for several hours before reassembly.
- Replace the control board: If t1 persists after cleaning and drying, the internal thermistor circuit is likely faulty. Install a new OEM Dyna‑Glo control board.
