Possible Causes

Loose temperature sensor connection, Poor door seal causing rapid heat loss, Control board relay sticking, Operating in very windy conditions

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before accessing wiring.

  • Secure sensor connections: Remove the control panel and firmly reseat the temperature sensor connector on the board.
  • Inspect door gasket and latch: Replace worn gaskets and adjust the latch so the door closes tightly.
  • Improve placement: Move the smoker to a sheltered location out of direct wind. Avoid placing it where gusts can enter the vent directly.
  • Monitor relay operation: During a test run, listen for rapid or erratic clicking from the control board relay. If it chatters or sticks, replace the control board.
