Possible Causes
Tripped household breaker or GFCI, Failed power cord, Loose connection at internal terminal block, Blown internal line fuse or thermal fuse
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the smoker is unplugged before opening any panels. Never work on live circuits.
- Check the outlet and breaker: Test the outlet with another appliance. Reset any tripped breaker or GFCI. Avoid using power strips or long extension cords.
- Inspect the power cord: Look for cuts, abrasions, or melted spots. Gently wiggle the cord at the plug and at the smoker entry point; if power flickers, the cord may be internally broken and should be replaced.
- Access the terminal block: Remove the rear or bottom panel to locate where the power cord connects inside. Tighten any loose screws and inspect for burnt terminals. Replace damaged parts.
- Check internal fuses: Locate any inline thermal fuse or board‑mounted fuse. Test for continuity with a meter. Replace only with the same rating and type if blown.
- If fuses blow again: Do not keep replacing fuses. A shorted heating element or wiring may be present and should be diagnosed by a qualified technician.
