Possible Causes
Wood chip tray not making good contact with element, Chip loader or tray clogged with ash, Using wet or oversized wood chunks, Heating element not reaching chip area properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Wear heat‑resistant gloves when adjusting the chip tray during operation.
- Check chip tray placement: Ensure the wood chip tray is fully seated in its holder and positioned directly above the heating element as designed.
- Clean ash and debris: Remove old ash and charred chips from the tray and surrounding area to restore airflow.
- Use proper chips: Use dry, appropriately sized wood chips recommended by Dyna‑Glo. Avoid large chunks or soaked wood that may not smolder properly.
- Verify element contact: On some models, the tray must rest close to the element. If bent, gently reshape the tray support so it sits correctly.
