Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, Obstruction preventing fan blade rotation, Loose fan wiring connector, Faulty fan relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker and wait until it is completely cool.
Steps to inspect the fan:
- Open the smoker door and locate the internal circulation fan (usually on the rear wall inside the cooking chamber).
- Check for foil, food debris, or grease buildup obstructing the fan blades. Clean thoroughly and ensure the blades spin freely by hand.
- Remove the rear access panel to reach the fan motor and wiring.
- Inspect the fan motor harness connector; reseat it firmly.
- Test the fan motor for continuity with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
- If the motor has proper resistance but does not receive voltage when the smoker is running, the fan relay or control board may be defective.
Replace the convection fan motor with a GE Profile-compatible part if it is seized or electrically open.
