Possible Causes
Clogged smoke generator, Wet or oversized wood chips, Failed smoke generator heating element, Incorrect chip tray placement
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the smoker before handling the smoke generator.
Steps:
- Remove the wood chip tray and clean out ash and debris. Ensure air holes are not blocked.
- Use dry, properly sized wood chips recommended by GE; avoid soaked chips or large chunks that can smother the element.
- Verify the chip tray is fully seated in the smoke generator housing as per the manual.
- Access the smoke generator heating element (if separate from main element) and inspect for damage or heavy scale. Test for continuity and replace if open.
