Possible Causes
Low supply voltage at outlet, Loose power cord connection inside smoker, Failed internal power supply on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before opening any panels. Do not operate on an undersized extension cord.
- Check outlet voltage: Use a multimeter to verify the outlet voltage matches the rating plate (typically 120V AC). Low voltage can cause E12.
- Avoid extension cords: Plug the smoker directly into a dedicated outlet. Long or undersized cords cause voltage drop.
- Inspect power cord strain relief: Remove the rear panel and check where the power cord enters the smoker. Ensure the strain relief is tight and the internal connections to the terminal block are secure.
- Check for burned wiring: Look for discoloration or melted insulation on the line and neutral wires leading to the control board.
- Board power supply: If wiring and voltage are correct, the internal low-voltage power supply on the control board may be failing under load, requiring board replacement.
