Possible Causes
Metal panels expanding and contracting, Loose internal brackets or screws, Racks not seated properly, Heating element mounting clips loose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the smoker to cool before tightening any hardware.
- Check rack fit: Ensure all racks are properly seated in their supports and not flexing or binding against the cabinet walls.
- Tighten hardware: Inspect internal brackets, element mounting clips, and exterior panel screws. Tighten any loose fasteners.
- Isolate panels: If two panels are rubbing, insert a small high-temperature spacer or adjust the panel alignment to reduce contact.
- Monitor: Some mild popping from thermal expansion is normal, but very loud or new noises after a repair may indicate a mounting issue that should be corrected.
