Possible Causes
Tripped household circuit breaker, Failed power cord, Loose connection at internal terminal block, Blown internal fuse on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before opening any access panels.
- Verify outlet: Plug a lamp or other small appliance into the same outlet to confirm it has power. Reset the breaker or replace the fuse if needed.
- Inspect power cord: Check the entire length of the cord for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Check internal connections: Remove the rear or bottom panel to access the power cord terminal block. Tighten any loose screws and ensure the ground wire is secure.
- Look for internal fuse: Many GE smokers include a small cartridge or glass fuse on or near the control board. Remove and test for continuity. Replace only with the same type and rating.
- Test again: Reassemble, plug in, and try powering on. If still dead and power is confirmed at the terminal block, the main control board is likely failed and should be replaced.
