Possible Causes
Broken temperature sensor probe, Disconnected sensor harness, Corroded sensor connector on control board, Damaged wiring harness inside cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels.
Diagnostic steps:
- Check the probe inside the chamber: Inspect the temperature probe for physical damage, bending, or broken mounting. Ensure it has not been struck by racks or heavy food.
- Verify connector seating: Remove the rear or side panel to access the control board. Locate the two‑wire sensor connector and ensure it is fully seated and free of corrosion or moisture.
- Continuity test: Disconnect the sensor from the board and measure resistance across the two sensor leads. If the meter shows OL (open circuit), the sensor is broken and must be replaced.
- Harness inspection: Follow the sensor cable along the cabinet. Look for cuts where it passes through metal holes or near the door opening. Repair with high‑temperature wire and heat‑shrink tubing if damage is localized; otherwise replace the entire harness.
- Control board check: If a known‑good sensor still gives E3, the control board input may be faulty. Replace the main control module.
