Possible Causes
Open circuit between board and element, Blown internal thermal fuse in series with element, Failed element relay on PCB, Loose neutral or live connection to element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow cooling.
Steps:
- Check continuity from board to element: With the smoker unplugged, disconnect the element wires and test continuity from the control board output terminals to the element connectors. Repair any open wiring.
- Test thermal fuse: Many Klarstein smokers have a thermal fuse in series with the element wiring. Locate it (often sleeved in fiberglass) and test for continuity. Replace if open.
- Verify element: Confirm the element itself has proper resistance. If good, suspect the board.
- Replace control board: If wiring, fuse, and element are good, the element drive circuit on the board is defective and the board must be replaced.
