Possible Causes
Aged or drifted NTC temperature sensor, Poor sensor contact with chamber wall, Grease insulating the sensor, Control board calibration error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker and let it cool.
Steps:
- Clean the sensor: Inside the chamber, clean the temperature probe thoroughly to remove grease that can cause false high readings.
- Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the wall and not hanging loose. Tighten mounting screws if present.
- Compare with external thermometer: Run the smoker at a set temperature and compare with a reliable oven thermometer. If the display reads much higher than actual, the sensor is likely drifted.
- Replace sensor: Swap the temperature sensor probe with a new Klarstein‑specified NTC sensor. Clear any stored error by unplugging for several minutes, then retest.
