Possible Causes
Worn or compressed door gasket, Warped door, Loose door hinges, Build‑up preventing full closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the smoker to cool before adjusting the door.
Steps:
- Inspect gasket: Look for flat spots, cracks, or missing sections in the silicone or rubber gasket. Replace if damaged.
- Clean sealing surfaces: Remove grease and carbon from the door and frame where they meet.
- Check door alignment: Tighten hinge screws and adjust if the door is sagging. On some Klarstein models, hinges can be shimmed to improve alignment.
- Test closure: Close a strip of paper in the door at various points. If it pulls out easily, the seal is weak there and gasket or door adjustment is needed.
