Strong burning plastic or electrical smell during operation; may occur with or without visible smoke from vents.

Safety first: Immediately unplug the smoker and allow it to cool. Do not continue using until inspected.

Steps:

• Inspect heating area: Look for plastic items, foil, or wiring that may have contacted the heating element. Remove any foreign objects.
• Check wiring: Remove rear panel and inspect all wiring near the element and fan for melted insulation or discoloration. Replace damaged wires with high‑temperature rated wire.
• Fan motor: If the smell comes from the fan area and the fan is noisy or slow, replace the fan motor.
• Control board: Inspect for burnt components. Replace the board if any are found.
