Possible Causes
Loose power cord connection at back of smoker, Failing power switch, Overheating control board, Internal wiring harness loose at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before inspecting wiring. Allow it to cool if recently used.
- Secure power cord: Ensure the cord is fully inserted into the smoker and outlet. Avoid tripping hazards that could tug on the cord.
- Inspect power switch and wiring: Remove the control housing and check that the power switch terminals and wiring harness connectors are tight.
- Check for heat damage: Look for browned or melted plastic near the control board. If the board is overheating, ensure there is adequate ventilation and no insulation blocking airflow.
- Reseat harnesses: Unplug and replug all harness connectors on the control board to eliminate intermittent contact.
- Replace faulty components: If the switch feels loose or the board shows heat damage, replace the affected part.
