Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Failed door switch, Broken door strike, Loose switch wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before adjusting the latch or accessing switches.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Look for obstructions on the gasket or frame.
- Inspect latch and strike: Examine the metal or plastic strike on the door and the latch mechanism on the body. If bent or cracked, replace the affected part.
- Door switch test: Locate the door switch (often near the latch area). Press it manually and listen for a distinct click. If no click or if it feels loose, the switch may be faulty.
- Wiring check: Verify the switch harness is firmly connected to the main control PCB and not damaged.
- Replacement: Remove mounting screws, disconnect the old switch, and install a new Ninja-compatible door switch. Adjust the latch so the door firmly engages the switch when closed.
