How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before opening the control panel.
Steps to improve or restore display:
- 1. Inspect the display window: Clean the outside of the display lens with a soft cloth. Check for condensation or moisture inside.
- 2. Access the control panel: Remove screws and gently pull the panel forward to expose the display module and its connector.
- 3. Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the display ribbon cable or plug to ensure a solid connection.
- 4. Dry moisture: If moisture is present, allow the panel to air dry completely before reassembly.
- 5. Replace the control module: If the display remains dim or segments are missing, the display or its driver circuit is likely failing. Replace the OEM control board/display assembly.
Note: Even with a weak display, do not operate the smoker blindly. Use an external thermometer and timer until the display is repaired.
