Door will not latch securely or pops open slightly during cooking.

Safety first: Allow the smoker to cool before adjusting the door.

• Tighten hinges: Tighten all hinge screws on the door and cabinet.
• Adjust latch: Many Pit Boss smokers have adjustable latches. Loosen the mounting screws and reposition the latch or catch so the door pulls tight when closed.
• Inspect for warping: If the door is visibly twisted, it may need to be gently bent back or replaced.
• Replace latch: If the latch mechanism is worn or broken, install a new door latch assembly.
