Heavy smoke leaks from door edges instead of mainly from exhaust vent.

• Inspect gasket: With the smoker cool, examine the door gasket for flat spots, cracks, or missing sections. Replace the door gasket if damaged.
• Check door alignment: Close the door and look for uneven gaps. Adjust the latch or hinges to pull the door evenly against the gasket.
• Tighten hinges: Tighten any loose hinge screws. If the door is warped, it may need to be gently bent back or replaced.
• Test seal: Place a strip of paper between the door and gasket and close the door. You should feel resistance when pulling the paper out. Adjust until the seal is uniform.
