Possible Causes
Tripped household breaker, faulty power cord, failed power switch, open internal fuse or burned control board power supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before opening any panels. Do not bypass fuses or safety devices.
- Check outlet and breaker: Test the outlet with another appliance. Reset the breaker or replace a blown GFCI if needed.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Wiggle the cord gently at the plug and smoker inlet to see if power flickers. Replace the power cord if damaged.
- Test power switch: Access the back of the power switch and use a multimeter to verify continuity when switched on. Replace the power switch if it does not close.
- Check internal fuse: If your Pit Boss model has an internal fuse on the control board or near the power inlet, test it with a multimeter and replace with the same rating if blown.
- Control board inspection: If fuses and switches are good, inspect the control board for burned components. A failed main control board will require replacement.
