Possible Causes
Worn membrane contacts, Moisture ingress behind keypad, Damaged keypad ribbon cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before working on the control panel.
- Clean panel surface: Wipe the keypad area with a slightly damp cloth to remove grease and debris; do not soak.
- Inspect for cracks: Look for splits or bubbles in the membrane that could allow moisture inside.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Open the control housing and carefully unplug and replug the keypad ribbon cable into the control board.
- Dry out moisture: If you see condensation, allow the panel to dry in a warm, dry area for several hours.
- Replace keypad/control panel: If specific buttons remain dead, replace the keypad or full control panel assembly with the correct Smokehouse part.
