How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the smoker before removing the control panel.
- Inspect control panel connections: Remove the screws securing the front control panel. Gently pull it forward to access the ribbon cable or harness connecting the keypad to the main control board.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Carefully unplug the ribbon cable, inspect for bent pins or corrosion, and reconnect firmly.
- Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or liquid inside the control housing. Dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth and allow to air dry before reassembly.
- Test keypad response: Plug the smoker back in (with panel still accessible but safe from contact) and test buttons. If some or all keys remain unresponsive, the keypad or full control assembly likely needs replacement.
- Replace control panel assembly: Order the correct Smokehouse control panel or keypad assembly. Transfer any mounting hardware, connect the ribbon cable, and reinstall the panel.
