Display shows E8 and smoker beeps continuously without starting the heating cycle.

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before adjusting the door or switch.

• Check door closure: Ensure the smoker door closes fully and the latch engages. Look for warped door seals or obstructions preventing full closure.
• Inspect door switch: Locate the door switch (usually near the door frame). Confirm the actuator is pressed fully when the door is closed.
• Test switch continuity: Disconnect the switch wires and use a multimeter to test continuity. The switch should show continuity when the door is closed and open when the door is open.
• Adjust or replace switch: If the switch is misaligned, loosen its mounting screws and adjust so the door fully depresses it. If the switch fails continuity tests, replace it with an OEM Smokehouse door switch.
• Inspect wiring: Follow the switch wires to the control board and repair any breaks or loose connectors.
