Possible Causes
Missing or misaligned drip pan, Clogged drain hole, Rusted-through bottom pan, Overfilled water pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the smoker to cool before cleaning grease; hot grease can cause burns.
- Verify drip pan placement: Ensure the Smokehouse drip pan is installed in the correct position under the racks to catch drippings.
- Clean drain hole: If your model has a drain, clear it with a small brush or pipe cleaner to allow grease to flow into the pan.
- Inspect bottom pan: Look for rust holes or cracks in the bottom of the cabinet. Small holes can sometimes be patched with high-temperature food-safe sealant; severe rust requires panel replacement.
- Do not overfill water pan: Fill only to the indicated level to prevent boiling over and leaking.
